Texto:  Regras gramaticais vs. Input – resumo

Siga os falantes nativos, não as regras gramaticais. http://www.antimoon.com/wiki/Por_que_voc%C3%AA_n%C3%A3o_deve_aprender_ingl%C3%AAs_por_regras_de_gram%C3%A1ticaversãoversão original  Why you shouldn't learn English by grammar rules

Grammar rules vs. input — summary

Learning with grammar rules has two important disadvantages:

Memory effort. It is difficult to memorize a grammar rule. The process is highly artificial; it is like memorizing a poem. It is much easier to read some example sentences and let your brain do the rest.
Time. You need a lot of time to use a grammar rule. You have to remember it, you have to see if it can be used in your sentence, then you have to build the sentence according to the rule.

Writing a sentence with grammar rules is like solving a mathematical equation. If you use grammar rules often, you can't speak or write in English fluently.

"Aurora Borealis"! Breathtaking!!!

After watching it last night, I could not help (avoid) posting it today!

An aurora (plural: auroras or aurorae) is a natural light display in the sky, particularly in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions, caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere (thermosphere). The charged particles originate in the magnetosphere and solar wind and are directed by the Earth's magnetic field into the atmosphere.

Aurora is classified as diffuse or discrete aurora. Most aurora occur in a band known as the auroral zone[1][2] which is typically 3° to 6° in latitudinal extent and at all local times or longitudes. The auroral zone is typically 10° to 20° from the magnetic pole defined by the axis of the Earth's magnetic dipole. During a geomagnetic storm, the auroral zone will expand to lower latitudes. The diffuse aurora is a featureless glow in the sky which may not be visible to the naked eye even on a dark night and defines the extent of the auroral zone. The discrete aurora are sharply defined features within the diffuse aurora which vary in brightness from just barely visible to the naked eye to bright enough to read a newspaper at night. Discrete aurorae are usually observed only in the night sky because they are not as bright as the sunlit sky. Aurorae occur occasionally poleward of the auroral zone as diffuse patches[3] or arcs (polar cap arcs[4]) which are generally invisible to the naked eye.

I Don't Know What To Do

Tiko's Groove

If you tell me what am I supposed to do
I'll forget ya
Nothing is gonna change my love, my love to you
I will catch ya

Rhythm's gonna hustle, but it doesn't kill

You are such a

Right here, right now I want to prove you

Quem somo nós!! What the Bleep Do We Know!?

 Just for Juan !

What the Bleep Do We Know!?  is a 2004 film that combines documentary-style interviews, computer-animated graphics, and a narrative that posits a spiritual connection between quantum physics and consciousness. The plot follows the story of a deaf photographer; as she encounters emotional and existential obstacles in her life, she comes to consider the idea that individual and group consciousness can influence the material world. Her experiences are offered by the filmmakers to illustrate the movie's thesis about quantum physics and consciousness. The 2004 theatrical release of the film was followed by a substantially changed, extended DVD version in 2006.

Microsoft is buying Skype!!

Microsoft has confirmed it will buy the internet phone service Skype. The $8.5 billion deal will connect Microsoft with the 663 million people around the world who use Skype. It is the most money Microsoft has spent to buy another company.

Report
One is the giant business, whose software powers more than 90% of the world's computers. The other is the firm, which has revolutionised the way many communicate. Now Skype is being swallowed up by Microsoft.

It's just eight years since Skype started helping people to make calls over the internet for nothing, and this is the third time it's been bought and sold.
